How the team began

The Sovereign Grace Running team began in the summer of 2008 when a few home schooling families decided to start a competitive running program in middle Tennessee. That first cross country season Coaches Mike Carmody and Jesi (Christiansen) Andolina led a team of 35 runners on the high school and middle school teams. In the spring of 2010 Sovereign Grace created their first track team. From 2014 to 2020, Heidi Garner took over the helm of the middle school cross country team, and in 2016 Israel Holliday joined as a high school coach (later on becoming the head track coach). The team has grown and developed (now usually fielding more than 100 runners on our combined cross country teams) and enjoys competing among public and private school teams statewide.
